Dear Freestyle kayakers, welcome to this year's first international show-down in Freestyle kayaking at the Augsburg Eiskanal. On May 6-7, 2006 one out of three Eurocup events will be hold at the well-known feature the "Waschmaschine" on the Eiskanal. The 1972 Olympic whitewater course still kept its special charme and challenge to all Slalom, Freestyle and whitewater paddlers. Bring your paddling friends, fans and supporters. Motivate them to enter the competition or just paddle the whitewater course and test the newest equipment. We're happy to meet you all in Augsburg. You can register online now. The online registration will be closed on 3rd of May. You can still sign in at the spot, but you miss the 10Euro‚¬ discount: seniors 45Euro‚¬/juniors 40Euro‚¬ instead of 35Euro‚¬/30Euro‚¬ online. www.akv-online.de The pre-lims start Saturday at 8am, see also "Programm" on www.akv-online.de The registration fee includes camping, T-Shirt and whitewater course fee, 10Euro‚¬ bib deposit is extra. Please pay cash in Euro‚¬ when picking up your bib and T-Shirt: The office at the AKV Club house will be open Friday all afternoon and Saturday early morning. You will find a site map posted, so you don't get lost. Details about the spot: playak.com, playboater.com, kajak.at, kanumagazin.de If you fly into Munich airport and need a shuttle, let us know. You can also go by train via Munich to Augsburg Hbf and take a bus to Hochzoll/Brücke or a slow train from Munich to Augsburg/Hochzoll. By car: check a routenplaner on internet; in Augsburg look/ask for the Slalom course=Eiskanal and look for the little Olympic icons; motorway exits are Augsburg-Ost and Friedberg/Dasing. Free training is on Thursday, Friday and Saturday after prelims - night paddling until approx. 10pm. When you are in the eddies beside the hole watch for the paddlers coming from upstream. Please give way to Slalom paddlers, who are obviously training with their coaches. Please park your car at the designated sites - watch for signage. Tents can be set-up on the lawn close to the parking. Restrooms and showers can be used at the clubs and BLZ. Restaurants and beergardens are in walking distance from the Eiskanal area. It takes about 5min driving/15min walk to grocery shops in a shopping center. If you want to stay in a hotel, let us know, we can help with the bookings.
